Statement No. 2
It is marvelous to see a well-trained dog. The
reason that seeing-eye dogs are so dependable and loyal to their blind masters
is because these guide dogs are especially bred for their jobs.
Sorry, wrong answer!
Correct!
The common belief that
"dependability and loyalty" can be "bred" into dogs is no more true with
dogs than with children. Although guide-dogs are specially bred and trained
by professionals, many of them have to be removed from their visually
impaired masters because the master, not the dog, does not "live with" the
dog properly, treating him with consistency and providing him with daily
guidance. The guide-dog foundations have more problems with the proper
teaching of the "masters" than with dogs!
