Statement No. 6
Often, when we have to leave the dog
alone at home, he will show his resentment by chewing on things that will upset
us, or urinating or messing in the house.
Close, but not quite.
Bingo!
Dogs chew, urinate, mess up the house
etc, NOT because they resent us when we leave them and want to upset us, but
because they have not developed "acceptance" to counter their anxieties and
tensions at being left alone, becoming more and more frustrated and tense.
Chewing, defecation, urination, etc., are all tension-relievers for the dog.
The dog will often choose some personal article (usually of value) in order
to feel "close" to the missing owner.
