Now You Can Have a Dream Dog!

SOLVING PROBLEMS, THE HOLISTIC AND NATURAL WAY

By Dr. Dare Miller

This article is taken from Dr. Miller's blog entry of 07/24/2007:

Konrad Lorenz loved animals even mankind. He wrote about dogs, their temperaments and relationships with man. A particular insight of his is worth its own in “Pearls of Thought: For Both Man and Dog.” It’s amazing how calming and unifying just “walking a strange way together” can be or do.

I certainly agree. I’ve successfully advised clients with Konrad Lorenz’s observations for some years now. It works wonders in developing the necessary relationships so helpful to dog-Masters. And—it works 100x better if you do so without that negative leash.

In the index of the DOG-MASTER SYSTEM book there is a topic called “Quiet Dog.” It’s a how-to for beginners, of course, because DOG-MASTER dogs just don’t seem to have those issues anymore. This sure is better than having your vet come up with today’s “pill solution.”

More than 10 million Americans take antidepressants and other psychiatric drugs—drugs that are known to cause mental and physical agitation, and spark self-destructive, violent behavior. SSRI’s are so hazardous that the FDA requires that they carry a warning that they increase suicidal thoughts in young people. These drugs can also induce dissociative reactions making those who take them insensitive to the consequences of their behavior.

We should alert ourselves and not think that because some doctor prescribes such meds they are OK. Everybody beware. In a certain percentage of people given these drugs, some of their side effects can actually cause the very problem they are prescribed to aid. Doctors are not always aware that a percentage of people are more than just vulnerable. Drug company salesmen do NOT sell side effects.

There is a growing body of medical knowledge literature, clinical observations linking these meds to thousands of suicides, murders, and assorted acts of brutality and violence. We must come to our senses. Dare me to list. School shootings, remember?

  1. Blacksburg, VA – April 16, 2007: Seung-Hui Cho killed 33 with more than two dozen injured. Antidepressants were found among his effects.
  2. Littleton, CO – April 20, 1999: Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold terrorized Columbine High killing 13 and injuring 23. Harris was taking Luvox.
  3. Red Lake Indian Reservation, MN – March 21, 2005: Jeffrey Weise killed his grandfather and his grandfather’s girlfriend, then continued at Red Lake High, killing 7 more people and wounding more than a dozen, including himself. He was on Prozac.
  4. Springfield, OR – Kip Kinkel murdered his parents, proceeded to school killing 2 students and wounding more than 20. He too, was on Prozac.
  5. Bailey, CO – September 27, 2006. Duane Morrison went into Platte Canyon High School, took 6 teenage girls hostage, sexually assaulted some of them, killed 1 and then himself. Antidepressants found in his jeep.

Another 6 brutal murders too gruesome to describe on top of all the above but of the family type, i.e. brother and sister murdered by siblings, mothers killing their children, a husband stabbing his wife of 50 years to death. One of them on Ritalin, Prozac, and Klonopin, one on Lexapro, one on Paxil, one on Prozac alone, and two on Zoloft.

I’m going to spare you readers from the rest of my list which I’ve been noting for some time. Suffice to say the headings were under arson, etc. and other bizarre behavior using the same drugs with the addition of Wellbutrin.

The Courts agree:

  • North Port, FL – November 4, 2003. Larry Smith opened fire on a gas station. He was charged with attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and using violence on police while resisting arrest. He was found not guilty by reason of insanity due to being “involuntarily intoxicated” by his antidepressant medication.
  • Santa Cruz, CA – June 20, 2002. Andrew Meyers viciously attacked his friend of many years using a brass-knuckle-type weapon. He was acquitted on grounds of adverse reaction to Zoloft.
  • Spokane, WA – September 26, 1999. Sharon Curry stabbed her 8-yr old daughter to death then tried stabbing herself. She was acquitted by reason of insanity—jury agreed that her meds Paxil and Adderall caused drug-induced pscychosis.

I have more of this as I’ve said. You can also visit www.ssristories.com for more.

What should we all be doing?

These drugs are unnatural chemicals to the human body therefore unpredictable. Also they all are prescribed for symptoms and do not attain nor deal with the real causes. They do not go far enough to the source of whatever the problem is. Therefore at best they only sustain and not cure.

Choose holistic doctors who do not stop with the symptoms but look at the whole body and the real cause. A holistic M.D. will start with the cause and first use NATURAL, body-friendly medication.

One last word on paranoia. Seung-Hui Cho, who killed 33 (including himself) at Virginia Tech, lacked ever having learned to form a relationship. He is a classic case of paranoia. What a God-given solution to this whole grotesque oddity is our best friend the dog. Have you noticed, dog is God spelled backwards? As Konrad Lorenz aptly puts it, an “enjoyable walk in a strange way together,” meaning, a new road taken together, not before, emphasizing new discoveries together, enjoying and developing a relationships.

The frightening lack of this ability can haunt one for life. Being a loner is a number one cause of paranoia, a mental disorder characterized by systematized delusions of either grandeur or persecution, often with an otherwise relatively intact personality.

It’s the relatively intact personality that can fool doctors. The term “paranoid” should not be used loosely as it can make the situation seem almost usual or normal. Often the victim is not recognized as dangerous, and a drug’s side effects can tip the scales toward a scenario of persecution, followed by a calculated “defense” or “payback.”

The horrific aftermath of Blacksburg, VA should motivate us enough. Hope I’ve helped. Three words worth mentioning: RELATIONSHIP. HOLISTIC. NATURAL.

Thanks for listening!
